Medical Mission Group Hospitals & Health Services Cooperative Surigao del Sur has gone a long way from one man's dream of serving his fellow Surigaonon especially the marginalized sectors of the society. From the original member of only 15, it has now a total membership of around 1,500 members. Its membership is broad based from all walks of life and that includes, doctors, allied medical professions, professionals, teachers, police, military, different religious denominations, barangay health workers, vendors, fisher folks, farmers, jeepney and tricycle drivers.

During its 7th Anniversary and General Assembly, its theme is "Heaven Can Wait But Health Can't". In one man's journey in this world because we are just tourist, he will always do his best and struggle to maintain self in proper physical shape and free from all forms of diseases because of this Heaven will just have to wait before man could reunite our Creator. At the same occasion, MMG also launched "Buntis Congress 2008". This is also in response to the Safe Motherhood Program of DOH and the administration of Gov. Vicente Ty Pimentel, Jr.

In the said 7th Anniversary and General Assembly held at MMG Cooperative Hospital on April 19, 2008, Mr. Johnny Ty Pimentel was the Guest of Honor. Another guest was supposedly Dr. Jose M. Tiongco, CEO of MMG Philippines Federation but unfortunately one of the bridges connecting Marihatag and Cagwait was not passable thus he was not able make it on the said occasion.

Dr. Herwin Y. Villamor, founder and CEO of MMG-SDS during his message recalled how he and Mr. Johnny Pimentel was able to help a certain Princess Boquil from Bangsud, Tago, Surigao del Sur at that time she was only seven month old with congenital deformity of Meningoencephalocoele. Most of the Doctors have given on her case. At Davao Medical Center, her parents were asked to prepare P500K which they couldn't afford. Dr. Villamor was able to facilitate the operation of the kid for free at National Children's Hospital. Now princess is a Grade Five pupil at Bangsud Elementary School. She attended the General Assembly of MMG. She symbolizes that we could make a difference to the life our fellowmen if we could work hand in hand the cooperative way. Dr. Villamor also enumerated some updates that include the "Bulilit Health Workers" and "Newborn Screening ng Barangay" thru Bulilit Health Workers Foundation Surigao del Sur Chapter and Newborn Screening Society of the Philippines- Surigao del Sur. These two programs will be launched on the 4th week of June in cooperation with Department of Education and Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur.  In both associations, Dr. Villamor is the Chapter President for Surigao del Sur.

Mr. Johnny Ty Pimentel also recalled how he was able to help Princess by referring her to Dr. Villamor and provided their transportation. He was also very happy to see that the infant he helped before is now a Grade Five pupil. He also outlined some of the Health Programs of the Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur especially the Women's Health Program. He urged all Surigaonon to support MMG-SDS because he believes on the aspirations of MMG in helping the marginalized sectors of the society.

On the second part, Dr. Agnes Kindica-Kionisala (OB-GYN) gave some tips or pointers on safe pregnancy to both expectant mothers and midwives. The importance of pre-natal check-up, the significance of each procedures and FQ&A on pregnancy was all discussed.

Third part was the Business Meeting and Election of Officers.
